
| John Gage is a folk singer/songwriter who entertains audiences with his resonate tenor voice and flat-picking guitar at festivals, churches, libraries, schools, clubs, rallies, or any place an audience might gather. Originally from Oklahoma, John came to Louisville over 30 years ago to pursue his education. Along the way, he took up guitar and that coupled with his love of folk music, has made him one of the best known and loved folk singer/artist in Kentucky. He has extensive State-wide experience, planning collaboratively with teachers for arts education programs and curriculum design. He also conducts interactive workshops and motivational speeches in pursuit of his stated mission to connect people to each other and to the earth. As an educator he works to help parents and teachers understand how the arts improve learning and personal well being. John is host of the Kentucky Homefront radio show, a traditional music and storytelling show heard locally on public radio, WFPK 91.9FM, every Wednesday evening at 8:00pm (EST). He is also Director of Performing Arts at the Kentucky Theater in Louisville. |
